Privacy Notice

This notice describes what Pennsylvania Busted Mugshots receives when someone uses the site, how that information is used, and when another party may handle it. Search terms entered into a partner box go to that provider. The site may also receive messages and basic technical data. By continuing to browse or use a search tool, visitors accept the practices described here.

Information You Send

Search Terms

A name, place, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the third-party provider that powers that tool. Pennsylvania Busted Mugshots does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider has its own data practices, which apply once the search is submitted.

Messages

If a visitor sends an email or message, the information in it is kept so the sender can receive a reply. It is not shared outside the organization unless a legal requirement calls for that disclosure. Avoid sending sensitive personal or case records unless they are needed to explain the message.

Technical Data and Cookies

When a page loads, routine technical details may be recorded to help run the service and understand how it is used. Those details can include:

  • IP address
  • Browser name and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them
  • The referring site, when one is present
  • Date and time stamps

Cookies

Cookies help show how visitors move through the pages. Browser settings can block or remove them. Some site features may work differently if cookies are disabled.

How Information Is Used

Collected information supports a small set of service and maintenance tasks:

  • Keep the pages working and responsive.
  • Send search entries to the provider selected for that tool.
  • See which pages visitors use.
  • Spot and repair technical problems.
  • Display advertising that may reflect a visitor’s interests.

Outside Links and Ads

Pages may link to county jail rosters, sheriff and corrections agencies, Pennsylvania court portals, county resources, federal locators, and third-party search services. When a visitor leaves this site, the destination’s privacy notice and terms govern its handling of data. Pennsylvania Busted Mugshots does not control those practices.

Some advertising partners may use their own tools to track activity across different sites and select ads. That activity takes place on the partner’s systems, not through a data store controlled by this site.

When Data May Be Shared

Personal information is not sold. Depending on how a feature is used, limited information may reach the following parties:

  • Search partners that receive a submitted query.
  • Analytics providers that help measure page use.
  • Advertising networks that serve ads.
  • Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order.

Safeguarding Information

Reasonable, standard security steps are used to protect information under our control. No internet-connected service can promise perfect security or rule out every breach, so absolute safety cannot be guaranteed.

Visitors Under 18

The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information, a parent or guardian may contact us and ask that it be deleted.

Requests About Your Data

Visitors may ask about personal information the site holds. Depending on what is available, a request may seek to:

  • Receive a copy of information held about them.
  • Correct information that is wrong.
  • Ask for information to be erased.
  • Opt out of certain data uses.

This privacy notice applies to a private service. Pennsylvania’s Right-to-Know Law, 65 P.S. §§ 67.101–67.3104, concerns public records held by government agencies and includes exceptions. The Pennsylvania Office of Open Records explains its request and appeal process. That law does not make this site the custodian of an agency’s booking record.

Use the Contact Us page to ask about information sent directly to this service. A search query submitted through a partner box goes to that provider, so the partner may need to receive a request about its copy.

Changes to This Notice

This notice may be revised as the site or its tools change. A new version will appear here with its effective date.
